A natural progression from Day Skipper, the theory is both the same for Coastal and Yachtmaster level, so once completed there are no more navigation courses other than celestial navigation for those looking to complete their training up to Oceanmaster.

The Coastal Skipper/Yachtmaster theory includes all the elements of previous shorebased courses such as chart work, tidal calculations, buoyage, day shapes and lights, pilotage and passage planning techniques but in greater depth with the addition of secondary ports and weather.

Due to this being a higher level course, revision of previous notes is recommended along with recent navigational experience.

This course is taught over 6 days to allow for the inclusion of weather and secondary port modules, cost is 450 Euros with lunch provided.
