| RYA/DOT Yachtmaster Offshore |
|
For many considered the pinnacle of sailing qualifications, this advanced level course is recognised & respected Worldwide. The Yachtmaster assessment is conducted by an independant RYA/MCA Examiner following a week of intensive preparation spent ironing out any of those bad habits you may have picked up whilst expanding on previous knowledge. Due to the nature of the assessment, students should fully revise the Coastal/Yachtmaster Theory syllabus & ensure that their knowledge of the collision regulations (IRPCS) is second to none as there will be little time to learn these throughout the week. Previous experience should extend beyond 50 days seatime with over 5 days as Skipper. Candidates should have in excess of 2500 nautical miles logged over which 1250 must be in tidal waters. In addition the candidate should have undertaken 5 passages over 60 miles including 2 overnight & 2 as Skipper. A valid restricted radio licence (VHF) & first aid certificate must be presented on the big day along with the RYA Examination fee (check for current cost) & passport size photo. We will do everything we can to prepare you for the assessment & it is not our intention to to put you forward if your skill level is not quite there yet! To do so would be counter productive as you probably just need a little extra time before you taste success. We will discuss the best way forward & come up with an action plan thats right for you. Cost of the course includes clean bedding, breakfasts, lunch, 2 evening meals, wet weather gear, lifejacket & safety line. The yacht will naturally be available for the exam with crew. Low season Oct - May 705 Euros per week High season June - Sept 775Euros per week
